La Fiesta Bakery has been serving the community since 2005, but Ray has been baking since age 5. He grew up baking with his mother and working in his grandmother's corner store best known as the Sunshine Grocery & Grill located on Mesquite Street.
Dedicated to serving the people of Las Cruces, Ray regularly puts in 16-hour days to ensure that his customers receive only the best. With great enthusiasm, Ray can proudly say, "We make everything fresh daily!"
Whether you're new to the area, visiting, or a long-time resident, we welcome you to come on in and check it out! We are here to serve you!
"La Fiesta Bakery" was originally opened in 1988 in Truth or Consequences under "C & R Bakery." Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances led to it closing down in 1989. Eight years later, in 1997, it was reopened on Highway 70 near Moongate Rd under the name "La Fieta Bakery." It remained in business until another set of unforeseen circumstances in 1999. Finally, in 2006 it was re-established and relocated to its current location on N. Valley. It was closed temporarily in 2019 due to the road construction which restricted access to the business followed by the unpredicted outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020. It wasn't until September of 2023 that it reopened and continues to stay open.
Since 2006 "La Fiesta Bakery" has been the recipient of the "Las Cruces Sun-News Reader's Choice Award for Best Bakery and Best Desserts" for multiple years. This is heavily due to Ray's commitment to ensure everything is made fresh daily. Nothing is ever day-old. All remaining products get donated to El Caldito Soup Kitchen.
